Allison is excited to be your new 2008 Miss Florida Junior Teen! She is a 15-year-old high school Honor student, active in her school and community. She recently completed her Freshman year with a 4.2 GPA, and was the Freshman Homecoming Court representative. Allison enjoys cheerleading, dance, modeling, boating, music, and high school ice hockey. She is active in the Class Club of 2011 and the Fire Escape Youth Group at her church.
Allison hopes to reach out to girls her age and show them how they can achieve their hopes, dreams and goals through the United States pageant organization. Through this system, she plans to encourage girls to become more involved in their communities and to take a stand for issues they care about. She also plans to reach out to other teens, encouraging them to be true to themselves, avoiding negative peer pressure, and building self esteem.
Allison is a strong advocate for the anti-drug campaign. She sets an example and is a role model amongst her peers that living “above the influence” is cool. As Miss Florida Junior Teen she will further her influence in this area.
Animal rescue and adoption is Allison’s passion. She volunteers with several local rescue groups, including Animal Friends Society and Lost Angels Animal Rescue. She cares for foster dogs in her home that are available for adoption and helps show them at adoption events. She is proud to have been part of a recent adoption event in Tampa during which 380 homeless dogs and cats found new homes. Allison’s dream is to see an end to euthanasia of dogs and cats in shelters, and toward that goal she urges people to spay and neuter and think adoption first.
In addition to her work in animal rescue, Allison is looking forward to the many, many new volunteer opportunities that have come her way as Miss Jr. Teen Florida.
Allison lives at home with her parents, her chihuahua, Bonita, bulldog, Princess, bulldog/mastiff, Mickey, and eight rescue cats. She has an older brother, Mark, and will become Aunt Allison in September when her niece is born.
