Introducing Miss Florida Jr. Teen 2010: Bethany Chambliss
Bethany is a 15 year old Freshman at Tavares High School where she is currently an All Honors Member, Math Superstar, Science Fair Winner, and Civic Award winner nominated by her school peers. She strives to graduate with honors while preparing herself to attend college, and hopefully able to continue with a successful acting career.
Miss Florida Jr. Teen was pleased to have been able to volunteer with multiple charity groups including raising money for Jerry's Kids and the 30 Hour Famine. She was recently honored to be chosen as a youth ministry ambassador traveling to Honduras, to assist at her church's orphanage.
Recently, she made home baked cookies for her local U.S. Armory Unit now serving in Iraq. Bethany has also volunteered this year, at the Orlando Ronald McDonald House, participated in Relay for Life, Food Preparer for local Prom, Performed at Miss Lake County Scholarship Program, and served as a volunteer for Stop the Madness Community Event.
Other interesting facts about Bethany is that she loves web designing (she loved creating her own personal website: www.) Photography, Musical Theater/Acting, and is a huge Roller Coaster Fanatic! Her dream coaster ride is the Kingda Ka located at Six Flags in New Jersey. It's the world’s tallest and fastest roller coaster.
Bethany started acting at the age of 6 with Day Star Performing Arts Academy and has featured in many plays & musicals for the past 8 years. She is a graduate of Lisa Maile' Acting School located in Orlando as well as L.A. Acting & Improv. Her greatest experience in acting came when she filmed the "Got Juice" campaign for Juicy Juice and ABC Studios which airs throughout her home state of Florida.
The Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) & "Jerry Kid's" is very personal to Bethany, as her brother Briton was diagnosed with MD at a very early age. Bethany had 9 family members with MD and was diagnosed herself, as a carrier of Muscular Dystrophy. One of her biggest ambitions is to bring awareness of MD back to the public eye and "Challenge Teens to Make A Difference" by helping Jerry's Kids.
As a faith based teen and representative of the Florida United States Pageant, she believes in remaining approachable to all types of teens and to encourage others to take advantage of positive opportunities like the United States Pageant System.
