Miss Florida 2011 ~ Lynsey Coburn
Lynsey is an honors graduate of Winter Park High School and the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interpersonal and Organizational Communications, where she was on the Honor Roll and Dean's List. While in school, Lynsey was a member of Delta Delta Delta, the Student Government, a Member of the QUOTES organization, an organizer of UCF's Knight-Thon to benefit Childrens Miracle Network Hospitals, an organizer of Philanthropy Events, a member of the Spanish Club, on the Yearbook Committee, a member of the Debate Club and a volunteer with the Simon Youth Foundation. She is still involved with Delta Delta Delta serving as the Alumni Relations Chair in 2010, and now she is the Recruitment Advisor for 2011.
A true entrepreneur, she owns and operates her own cosmetics and gift boutique in Orlando and has plans to open a second successful retail business in the near future. At the age of 15 Lynsey was honored in her business by becoming the youngest certified make-up artist in the history of Merle Norman cosmetics and was nominated for the Cambridge Registry of Who's Who Among Professional Business Women. In the distant future, Lynsey sees herself serving as a stylist to the 'stars', assisting Hollywood's elite select and accessorize their day-to-day and red carpet wardrobes. An avid volunteer, Lynsey has helped to raise over $10 Million for her platform the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. She also has rescued three shelter dogs and regularly volunteers at the Orange County Animal Shelter. She is also proud of her work doing free make-over's for people who cannot afford them.
Lynsey's hobbies include cooking southern dishes, watching college basketball, rescuing dogs, shopping, reading, and doing cross-word puzzles.
Prior to winning the title of Miss Florida United States, Lynsey won Ms. Florida United States 2005 and was 1st Runner-up in the Ms. United States Pageant.
